Hey all, sorry to be out of touch. Occupy stuff and other personal things and thanksgiving have been occupying my mind.
I am glad to hear that so much awesome stuff is going on.
I will be out of town until wednesday so good luck with all you actions. I haven't heard from any profs about a teach-in yet but maybe we could talk more about this when I get back.
Thanks,
Justin.

Hey everyone!

We just concluded our Tuesday meeting, where we discussed what our steps will be for the next weeks here. Here's what we decided:

- We will Occupy campus on Monday and Tuesday night
- We will have a Speak-Out on Monday from 12:00-2:00pm in support of the UC and CSU students who are going on strike on Monday. They are striking in response to the police brutality that occurred at UC Davis on Friday. (If you haven't seen that video, look up "Occupy UC Davis Pepper Spray")
- We will show a film at 5:00 pm out here at the encampment. We are going to watch "Bringing Down a Dictator"

With that, we will be occupying Monday and Tuesday nights ever week for the rest of the semester (which isn't much longer!) We need everybody's support to maintain our camp! Please come out and join us if you haven't already!

An update on what else we have done this week: Last night we had a candle-light vigil for students at UC Davis, called for by Occupy Colleges. We made some mic-check announcements in the cafeteria which were awesome. Steven Zunes, a professor in the politics department, came and camped out with us last night. He will be back tonight and is offering support to us through the resources in his office. He is also on board with doing a teach-in on the Arab Spring, nonviolence versus violence, and other aspects of the Occupy movement.

In general, for the coming weeks, we would like to see more going on at our camp. A library, a generator bike, reading days, and constant discussion beyond our table are some of the ideas that were thrown out at the meeting. We will see how the Speak-Out goes on Monday (everyone should come speak!) - this could be a model for something we do on a regular basis.

See you all on Monday! Have a good Thanksgiving break!

Charlotte
