THURSDAY, DECEMBER 1

7:00 PM - Help Create a Visions Common for San Jose

1995 Bird Avenue, San Jose
We are building a Visions Wall to create a common space where everyone in our community can come and share their vision about the kind of society we want to live in. If we become clear about the society we want to live in, we can stop cooperating with the vision of the 1% and start cooperating with the vision that works for all of us. (read more)


FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2

4:00 PM - Financial Friday Direct Action March

Depart from City Hall Plaza (4th & Santa Clara Streets)
We will spend approx 30 minutes agreeing on targets and tactics, then march to a financial institution in downtown San Jose.  Action will end around 6pm when banks close.

7:00 PM - Films of Vision & Hope - Best Films of Occupy Wall Street
World Centric, 2121 Staunton Ct., Palo Alto
Transition Palo Alto (http://transitionpaloalto.org/) is holding a film screening and discussion of the best videos from Occupy Wall Street as part of their "Films of Vision and Hope" project. They have asked our Video Collective to share some of our films. So, we would like to organize a group of people to tag along in support and to join in the discussion. (read more)

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 4

11:00 AM - Collective Bargaining: What Is It? How Can We Help Save It? (Tentative Teach-in)
City Hall Plaza (4th & Santa Clara St.)
A group of local unions are in negotiation with the City Council over collective bargaining rights for public sector workers. They are asking OSJ to come to the meeting to show solidarity with the workers in their negotiations with the City. To prepare for this, we are planning a Solidarity Teach-in so that everyone can get informed about the issues and how we can support local workers. (read more)

Come join us to practice participatory democracy as we make collective decisions for Occupy San Jose. (read more)

2:00 PM - March & Speak-Out
Depart from City Hall Plaza (4th & Santa Clara St.)
Join us after the General Assembly as we march and carry signs to Cesar Chavez Park for a speak-out to inform others about why we are here.  (read more)

4:00 Pm - 1% versus 99%: Why the System Needs to be Changed

Is it about corporate greed, or is it about the economic and political system? Sharat G. Lin leads a discussion on the origins of inequality, economic stages of development, the nature of governance, and why these are intimately connected.
