12:00 NOON-12:00 MIDNIGHT - #D17 OCCUPY 2.0
(https://www.google.com/calendar/render?tab=mc)
"Occupy San Jose Activists: THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION! Tomorrow
(Saturday, December 17th) marks the three month anniversary of the
Occupy Wall Street movement. Occupy Wall Street has asked all
occupations nationwide to partake in a D17 Day of Action by setting up
tents and reoccupying either temporarily or indefinitely. We want to
have tents all day!
Bring your tents to San Jose City Hall on December 17th (tomorrow!) in
between [noon] 12:00 PM-3:00 PM, and we will have a D17 general
assembly at 3:00 PM. We have discussed plans with our Legal committee
to make it legitimate. We want to use the
tents, including the signs, and the writings on the tents as symbolic
freedom of speech.
We are not planning on sleeping in the tents, however, if you would
like to camp at SJ City Hall plaza as private citizens, then feel free
to. We are in the process of making it a fun
day so come on down and bring a tent!
STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS. SOLIDARITY. -OSJ Organizers"
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18
12:00 NOON-2:00PM GENERAL ASSEMBLY - ACTION PLANNING FOR 2012
Calling all OSJ Occupiers & Supporters! Join our ACTION PLANNING
General Assembly Sunday, December 18 at noon!
Have you been waiting for a general assembly that is full of ACTION?
Now is the time!
Bring your ideas for campaigns and actions! Be prepared to describe it
in 1 minute to the General Assembly, and bring a sign that you can
hold above your head for people to find and join you in planning your
action.
A majority of our time will be devoted to people briefly describing
their campaign/action, and then breaking up into affinity groups with
others who want to join the actions. These affinity groups will begin
brainstorming, strategizing and planning their campaign or action. The
affinity groups will then report back to the GA what they are going to
do. We will also get contact information and next meeting dates
organized.
Help spread the word so we get as many folks out as possible - post on
your Facebook page, email to friends, copy the tweet message. This is
going to be a great day for OSJ!
Join Occupy San Jose as we take a giant step toward massive action and
mobilization!
Homework for the GA: watch the panel discussion about the Occupy
movement with lots of great insights about the movement and how to
understand it. This will definitely help with the discussions:
