Hello We the People Massachusetts Champion Advocate,

Breaking News!:  Senator Mark Montigny, the Rules Committee Chair, just endorsed the bill and the Committee has sent it to the Senate for a vote.  He received 300 letters from Constituents which helped a great deal with this.

We are now in the final stretch to get our bill, S.2243, voted on by the Senate. Senator Eldridge’s office is emailing all the senators to ask them to sign-on to a letter urging Senate President Chandler to let the bill be voted on and sent to the House.  YOU can now help by calling and/or sending letters to your Senator.

We are asking our strongest constituent supporters to call their senators and urge them to reply to Senator Eldridge’s email with a resounding “Yes!”.

Please call your senator and ask him/her to sign-on to the letter in support of S.2243.

We know that the Senate President is somewhat reluctant to bring the bill to the floor for a vote. She has fears of a amendment proposing convention. Without an overwhelming show of support from all the supporting senators, the bill will not be voted on this session. That is why I am making this request.

Thank you for making this very important call.

Please email me when you have made the call. Thanks.

Kathy Lique
