1/14/12, 1:30pm ET/10:30am ET

Dear Colleagues,
Would have loved to participate but, as I have indicated previously, I teach Saturdays (12:30-4) so it has been impossible for me to participate and feel pretty much out of the loop on this one…
We have continued to do our occupywallst.org surveys and the attached table shows where we are in terms of numbers and response rates.

Subject: Cultural texts analysis readings...
Hi all,
Happy new year and hope this finds you all well!
In preparation for our occupy research: race/class/gender call tomorrow, and my presentation on cultural texts analysis, here are some further resources that you could take a look at, either before, during, or after our discussion.
Attached are foundational articles by Stuart Hall and Trinh T. Minh-ha, both of which accentuate the intersection of race/class/gender in media analysis, as well as an updated intro, set of questions and examples for cultural text analysis.
This is a journal I edited that includes a plethora of works on digital/art activism:
Worlds and Knowledge Otherwise dossier: "Decolonizing the Digital/Digital Decolonization"
http://trinity.duke.edu/globalstudies/volume-31-decolonizing-the-digitaldigital-decolonization
This is an interview with a media scholar whose work exemplifies a grassroots media pedagogy:
Interview with Dr. Jesús Martín Barbero
http://www.comminit.com/node/149538
Also, I just learned that a meeting I have may run a little later than I thought - so I may be joining the call at about 1:40.
I look forward to being in touch!
Best wishes,
Dalida
