The Occupy Portland web site says they are looking for "Morale &
Entertainment Volunteers, Event planners, musicians, artists, merry-
makers, chant creators," which could be a good opening to create a
weekly poetry reading if anyone wanted to do that:

Nice. Where'd you see this on the site? At any rate I emailed Paul
about being a part of this, and pitched organizing a weekly writing
workshop or reading series as one such option. Also said we will most
likely make a proposal to the GA about us/this soon, along w/ info
about the first workshop.
