Kath7 & Tom,

Thank you for your response! Non-perishable food items would be great. As mentioned, we don't need cutlery.

As of this writing, Alexander will be visiting Jeff from this afternoon till Thursday. A ride to Poughkeepsie on Friday sounds like a welcome plan. I will let him know and be in touch.

Thanks also for the link. I will copy it out for Alexander. He is hoping to retrieve his laptop, which is at someone's house (whom he's not been able to reach) in Poughkeepsie.

Not only is this a busy time of year for us, Tom has a minor surgical procedure tomorrow.  Moreover, we're under the impression that phase 2 of OccupyPK is pretty much up in the air right now, so it's difficult to see how we could decide on our role in it until there is some sort of plan.  In the event a meeting takes place, we would like to know of ideas and decisions.  Tom's and my mission has mainly been to try to help supply food and other necessities to them, and store stuff for them if necessary, such as the items they may want to claim at 26 Howard St.
We presently have a fair supply of foodstuffs from Hulme that are not perishable, but should not be stored indefinitely.  If Alexander needs any of it, we can bring it over to High Valley for him and anyone else who might join him.  Then there is another bin and several boxes of cooking items and paper and plastic ware.  Vonn, you will be happy to know that I believe I have spotted your ladle.  I also recall someone wrote of having a couple of propane stoves, a green one being ours, but it was donated without the expectation of getting it back.  However, we will take it off your hands if and when we all meet to sort things out.  Feel free to keep it or give it away though.
Sorry to say we are not in a position to take anyone into our home.  Also, we rarely go to Poughkeepsie and are even further away than High Valley.  Perhaps there is something to help Alexander at this site:
Another young man that was at Hulme Park said he had housing at the Hudson River facilities because he was homeless, and explained that was why he could not stay overnight at Hulme, as he would risk losing it. For now the only time we are scheduled to go near Poughkeepsie will be next Friday when we go to help deliver toys to the hospitals and children's home.  We could bring Alexander down around noon before we go to St. Francis at 1 PM and bring him back later, though I can't say right now what time.  If we eat out, we'll take him to dinner.

I suggest we put a pause on meal service and have a meeting together to decide our mission and role in phase II of OccupyPK.  Since Jenn had planned to come up tomorrow evening, could we meet then at what would have been meal time?  6:30 p.m. Monday?  If this is not good for you please suggest another time.

We can also discuss other needs such as housing and ways we can put our energy and skills into moving forward.

Peace,
Vonn

I, too, was wondering about food - I was scheduled for Tuesday, but since the camp was evicted I'm assuming the meals calendar is no longer in effect. Responding to this appeal - I am not able to take anyone into my home.

Hello, Jenn and all Moms and Dads,

We have our own occupier here at High Valley. He has some supplies and I am offering occasional meals.

Don't know where you are located. My big concern is this: He is homeless, and we are closing our facilities in January. Then our own programs begin in Fenraury. We are far from basic services--like library, stores, that take food stamps etc....

Those who live closer to Poughkeepsie, he will need help, ie a place to stay, come January 1.

I happen to be going to Poughkeepsie tomorrow for an appt, but most days I work from home, so he will also need rides. Please be in touch, anyone who can help with anything: 845 266-4416
