I've been sending out emails inviting people to be part of this, but so far responses have not been overwhelming. Guess this is something we'll have to keep needling people about.

If we want, we can adjust the project to be part of this, which I just became aware of: http://www.loudsauce.com/occupyspots#faq

The downside would be that videos could only be 30 seconds, and presumably we couldn't slap a title bar on them screaming "Poughkeepsie Rulez". The upside is that there's a very slight chance the videos could end up on TV. Would that possibility get more people interested in the project, do you think, or scare them off?

Personally, I'd like to stay focused on what we've agreed to do for now.
We do not need a large group, just a few people dedicated to doing it.
Ander Sander, Blake, Kyle, Andy Papula and several others have signed on
so that could be enough. I'm trying to get a cross-section of our
demographic and really, no more than ten, and I think we're almost there.

For the loudspace project we could easily edit the best of what we've
got for submission or take the best speakers and re-shoot them for this.

That's just my 0.02.

I think it's a great idea (we can never have our name in too many places), and it seems in line with some of the things we discussed at the last occupy media meeting: i.e., consider another video that includes all regional occupies (occupy hudson valley).  I think it's worth talking about at our Sat. mumble session.

Also, regarding the Occupy Hudson Valley newsletter, does anyone know who the administrator is for the Occupy Hudson Valley website?  I want to link the newsletter to the website but need to speak to the administrator to make that happen.

Thank you!!

Mike, a co-editor at the Occupied Wall Street Journal in NYC has a
team that's launching a national+international Occupied media site,
Occupy.com. Right now, they are looking to make contact with a media
point person in order to start to communicate and find out about
upcoming actions, stories, news and other potential projects or
campaigns in your area. That is where OPK and OHV come in..."The Video
Project."

The goal is to provide a multimedia hub for Occupy-related journalism
and writing, video, photography, music, art and other creative works,
produced both nationally and worldwide, to give viewers a clear point
of entry where they can learn about and feel inspired to participate
in the movement! Occupy.com has a basic commons share concept where we
can re-post any material from your site, crediting the author and your
Occupy page/publication with linkbacks, and vice versa you'll have
complete access to reprint what appears on Occupy.com, with proper
credits.

Content-wise the idea is to simplify, clarify and speak as directly as
possible to core Occupy issues such as wealth inequality, corporate
abuse and accountability, money controlling politics etc, so that a
public that is only recently tuning into the discussion can feel
welcomed into the national movement, explore the ideas further -- and
get engaged!

As Occupiers of New York State are "we" [(as in you) as in OPK - OHV]
willing to work in collaboration?

Possibly something that could link in with the #OPK #OHV Video Project
and might be worth talking about on Saturdays mumble chat.
