Good morning,

I'd love to write today a piece about how the Occupy movement has continued in Poughkeepsie and the Hudson Valley following the December eviction from Hulme Park.

If possible, I'd love to speak with one or more members of the movement via phone today to get an idea of what's going on.
I'm available if no one else is. 845 225-2104 and I'm already known to their staff from being interviewed twice in the last 30 days.

Some things I'm interested in include:

Will members of Occupy Poughkeepsie participate in tomorrow's (Tuesday's) scheduled rally in Albany to support restoration of education funding cuts? How many members are planning to go?
Yes. We've filled a bus.

The movement is looking for city residents in the middle of foreclosure proceedings (according to your newsletter) - has the organization found any individuals who want/need help for the organization?
This is an ongoing process. We've spoken to near 100 residents and there are several willing to come forward to tell their stories.

The Occupy Albany movement has taken up an office space in that city - does Occupy Poughkeepsie plan to do anything similar, and if so, why and where would that office be? If not, why not?
We'd love to take a donation of space in a downtown, ground floor office. But in the meantime we're running full-speed head using donated space for our meetings.

How has the Occupy Poughkeepsie movement grown or decreased since the December eviction?
And, since the park in Poughkeepsie has been cleared, where various members of the movement have been staying in the last month?
Participants in the movement in the city have grown since our eviction from Hulme Park. We struck a chord with many in Poughkeepsie and people have come forward to offer their support and assistance. Most, if not all members have homes they've gone back to. Two participants have moved across to the Occupation in New Paltz.

Are there any speakers signed up for your upcoming Days of Action? If so, who are they? What times each day are the rallies, marches and General Assemblies supposed to begin?
And, I see that fliers indicate that people can bring tarps, tents and sleeping bags in preparation of re-occupying Hulme Park. Just to be clear, re-occupation of the park overnight and not just until 11 p.m. is the plan, correct? What are you expecting to happen if you try to re-occupy the park?
I would stay from discussing a re-occupation of the park at all costs. Jeff

Alright. Unless I hear from someone by 3:15 I'm going to take care of this. We shouldn't let this go by.

So, I made the call and it went rather well. I spoke on behalf of
myself.
Lets see how things went... everyone pick up the Journal tomorrow.
