At the last GA before Christmas there was consensus on setting up a
Wiki for the website and eliminating conflicting info about contacts
and meeting times. On top of that, the lack of media working group
meetings for these past few weeks and the apparent lack of progress on
a local Occupy newsletter would seem to indicate we'd best put our
heads together soon. I tried talking to the library about reserving
rooms for meetings... that's basically a no-go, as it turns out. Every
Monday in January it looks like there's a 6-8PM slot at the Arlington
branch, but that's about it. Rich Hutnik suggested Panera Bread on
Rte. 9 as a preliminary spot, as they have a walled-off space we could
justify using with a purchase or two. Sounds decent to me. Would
tomorrow evening, 6-ish, work for people, or is there a more
convenient time?

Following the example of other working groups, I've taken the liberty
of setting up a Google Group: https://groups.google.com/group/occupypokmedia.
I'll cross-post this message over there so discussion/responses can be
out in the open. In total I have Craig and Adam's emails (plus whoever
media@ and pr...@occupypoughkeepsie.org are), and can contact
Alexander, Vonn, and Rich on Facebook... since I wasn't involved until
soon before the media working group meetings ceased, there are
certainly other people I haven't met who should be invited as well. If
anyone can fill in those gaps, it'd be very helpful.

Talked to the Galleria... there's some kind of insurance payment
necessary for using their Community Room, so it looks like our best
bet is a guerilla gathering somewhere, or maybe a Mumble chat.

Well what is the necessity of a meeeting place?

To me the media/press team is meant to propagate decisions made by the
ga and working groups.. And to perhaps create flowery words that
propagate the message of the occupation...if those are the two
goals...the only thing needed is this google group

At some point someone decided that three meetings per week were
necessary or desirable, so it seems odd to me to go to zero. More and
better ideas can be generated with face-to-face brainstorming, I
think. Father Blake provided me with a list of when space is available
at Christ Church:
Mon 2-10
Tues 3-7
Wed 3-5
Thurs 2-5
Fri 2019
Sat 9-5

Perhaps Monday evening, or Friday before the GA? Seems to me that as
long as it's possible to get people together, and there are things to
discuss, we should definitely try to meet in person--particularly if
(re: Pat at tonight's GA) working groups are going to take on regional
work too.

Who'd be interested in attending a Media Working Group meeting on
Monday night to brainstorm ideas?

How about Sunday before the GA? At a diner? For dinner?
