What: Screening of "The Health Care Movie", which provides insight into Canada's health care

system, and "Health Care is a Human Right", a short documentary about Vermont's Health Care

is a Human Right campaign, which led to the state's passage of landmark universal health care

legislation.  (please feel free to forward to others that would be interested)

 

Where: Clinton Street Theater, 2522 SE Clinton St., Portland

 

When: Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, 7pm

 

Event Hosts: Dr. Peter Mahr, Physicians for a National Health Care Program

+ Jennifer Blackburn – Your local friendly universal healthcare advocate.

Eric Lambert will be speaking about his experience with the healthcare system in Taiwan.

Find out how the individual mandate is working in Massachusetts. (pretty spendy - and surveys show that more Mass. doctors are saying single payer (improved medicare for all) would be

a better direction to go in.)

Members from Physicians for a National Health Care Program, Mad as Hell

Doctors, and Health Care for All Oregon will come together to discuss and answer questions

about the Health Care is a Human Right campaign in Oregon. Are current reforms enough to

keep costs down and provide equity, transparency, and universality? 


How affordable is the affordable care act? Did you know our choices of plans will tiered by names of precious metal. You can have the "bronze plan" or for a little more muulah you can have the "silver plan."  Perhaps just another way to highlight the gap between the rich and the poor. 

 

Cost: $5-10 donation, no one turned away. Profits will benefit Health Care for All Oregon. (hcao.org)
