Hello Occupy Edmonton! I am speaking for myself when I say with utmost respect, thank you! Occupy Oakland had city approval for so long that the "shock and awe" campaign that was waged against us was "shocking" to all in this amazing city and around the world! We are no longer afraid, how can we be? Even when one of our own is fighting for survival (perhaps not death, but a head injury can be a lifelong dibilitation). It is this that has made us even more resolute in our fight against a system that devalues us as human beings, we are cannon fodder, as far as I can see. We will no longer submit to this indoctrination, come injury, come death, we are fighting for the rights of humans. An injury to one is an injury to all!

Soldier on Occupy Edmonton!!! We are in this TOGETHER! All for one, one for ALL!!

Peace and Solidarity,

Tara Stroud

For Immediate Release: Oct. 27, 2011

Occupy Edmonton would like to extend our solidarity to the people of Occupy Oakland. We have been shocked to see reports of extreme police brutality that occurred at the Occupy Oakland camp on October 25, 2011.

Occupy Edmonton condemns any acts of abuse committed by any law enforcement agency. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of 24-year old Iraq War Veteran Scott Olsen, who is currently in critical condition after being struck by a police projectile, and all Occupy Oakland people that were affected by the police crackdown. See footage here: http://vimeo.com/31187119?mid=513

We will be holding a candlelight vigil tonight in Edmonton to express our hopes for Scott Olsen's speedy and full recovery.

Date & Time: Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011 @ approx. 6:45pm
Location: Occupy Edmonton Park at Jasper Ave. & 102 St.

In Solidarity,

Occupy Edmonton
