I don't know how to reach the movement. I was watching the news and
saw this poor small business owner who only sold 1 tie in 2 weeks
because of the occupy Oakland movement @ his storefront. He is the
very person who is being taxed over 50%. He is a brick and mortar
business who has been hit hard over the past 30 years who should be
supported. Occupy could get the word out for folks to buy a tie at
his store in a gesture to support small business owners. Maybe we
could take back black Friday and cyber Monday and make up a day for
the small business owner.

Karen,

Thanks for your thoughtful comments. This is exactly the sort of thing that you can post on the OccupyOakland website "Reflections"

I encourage you to do that. (You will need to register as a site user, but that's pretty simple.)

Be careful believing what you hear on the news.

A lot of small business owners are doing crappy, and looking for someone to blame.  If the storefront is right at OGP, maybe we can talk.  Occupy brought hella foot traffic and lots of $$  to all sorts of downtown businesses downtown.

Before you try to go any further with this, WHAT is the store?  WHERE  is the store?

I read something related a few days ago that made no sense at all

a business owner in the Dimond district, which is all the way down by Fruitvale, said Occupy Oakland was hurting his business, and the Chron saw fit to print that as if it had validity
