Web team, I am emailing this to you because both sanitation@ and sanitary@ are not working email addresses. I tried using both to send info about setting up recycling and gout bouncebacks. Also, it contains a section of proposed items of need that should be posted on the website's wishlist under sanitation needs.
Supply and General, I am emailing this to you so that you might have the chance to pass this on to the sanitation people at the camp before I get there myself.

Hi Jessie and Ilan, am I spelling either of your names correctly?
I could not find you at the kiosk nor the ga at 10 last night - but here are some notes I wanted to present.
I wasn't able to make it to the ga this morning, but I hope this will help
1) Here is the contact info for City Slicker Farms
1625 16th Street, Oakland, CA 94607
Phone: 510-763-4241
Email: info [at] cityslickerfarms [dot] org
I can call them to see if we can work out a compost network with them if you want. If I call them, I need to know
*do we have people with trucks who can deliver compost to them or do we need them to come to us?
*if
we have to deliver to them, what kind of schedule can we keep? compost
should be hauled away from the encampment at least once a day
*do you have any idea of the volume of compostables the camp produces
(ballpark guesses are okay)? How clean is it? How much contamination
would have to be picked out?
*should we start out with kitchen only, and then try to reach out to the broader camp by setting up bins?
2) Can I receive some clarification on the current pick up
situation? I think you told me that city workers empty the cans every
day - does this seem like it will continue? for free?
Do they
empty every can? Does that include any cans that weren't built into the
park? Would they be willing and able to collect from additional bins as
we set them up?
Is there anybody to communicate with on the city side?
If the
burden to haul the recycling and garbage falls upon the camp, can we
arrange things with a hauler? We could also recruit people with trucks
to haul it down to the Waste Transfer station. If we have to self haul,
here's a link to the kind of rates we're looking to pay at Davis Street
xfer station

Civiccorps, based in Oakland, provides hauling services that could
be of great to help. It might be worth asking if they're willing to
donate some services or at least discount them

3) Possible supply wishlist - I see that Occupyoakland.org has a
wishlist posted on the front page. Here are items I brainstormed would
be good for a Sanitation wishlist.
-garbage bins (color coded?)
-gloves for sorting
-hand sanitizer
-bin liners
-volunteers with trucks to do garbage runs
4) Please let me know if there are any other areas in terms of recycling and garbage collection that need attention.
Hope this helps!
