- After arrival back from our trip to OWS.. I have a few hundred
items
of clothing.. Before we do this or actually make a release I would
like to a public statement
proposal.. to western, Bronson, Borgess, KVCC, Davenport.. you get
where
I'm going.. To help come up with a networked effort change Kalamazoo
from 6th meanest city in the U.S. to top 10 nicest.. we need to get
numbers.. to do this we need to get
interest and leaderless or not infrastructure.. we do this and put it
in the students mind as they go home.. I would also like to consider
looking into volunteering at the mission.. or else doing some kind of
public works with them. .Occupy is pushing this as national action we
will be forming in solidarity also We get some people on board and
then

city comission
meeting at 7pm.. we should then say something about kalamazoo is
currently the 6th meanest city in the U.S. and we would like to offer
Occupy kalamazoo to be willing to help the city comission with
changing this statistic, any programs willing to help us standing with
us
and just simply give them an email address
and perhaps a phone number .. specificlly do not make it so they have
to answer on the spot.. I think it is important to offer them this in
respect and give them a chance to get good PR and move forward..
election is over they do not have to be on the fence.. If they do get
a hold of them we are making great great progress.. If they give us
some kind of .. there are already things in progress.. or they do not
contact us .. we know we will have resistance and can prepare
accordingly..

- also am communicating with 6 animal shelters to volunteer with..
this also needs to have A release from Pr/media which we can
coordinate, also am going to committ sometime and summarize how
different occupies answer questions about what occupy means and what
it is trying to do.. what it stands for.. If we get any kind of
interveiw we should be prepared and have a good idea of what our
answers are before the moment we are asked :).. I will summerize but
also would encourage you to do your own research and decide what it
means to you and what you may learn and if it changes your
perspective ..

- Now this is my proposal I love direct democracy.. I want your in
put,
idea's for amendments? This cannot be what I think.. we should be
presenting what we think and I feel this is essential if we are going
to be realistic in change. .If we all agree we should present it to
GA
and then implement action. but only if we all feel we are
represented..
I just look at what I put as a default.

Next I would like to ask you to think tank.. Come up with your
creativity and make a decision.. look at this as an introduction to
the group.. Give your name.. Give why you choose to be here.. Telll
us
what you want to see change... and most importantly.. how you feel we
should approach it.. This is important for us to get to know each
other and know our team.. Thank you all and in Solidarity :)

It was a study done a few years back on how cities criminalize actions typically associated with homelessness and low income individuals. I will post a link as soon as I'm near a computer.

In the interest of full disclosure, i was part of KHAN and MPA, which
collected and submitted the data for the Kalamazoo area for the
study. Therefore it would be a conflict of interest for me to have a
vote one way or another on this. I will, however, be able to give any
information needed in order for all to have a clear picture and come
to their own decisions.

Ok back in town :D.. going to try and set up a meeting with Don Cooney
and also Ms bell about what things perhaps we can address that will
help Kalamazoo.. I spoke very heavily about what the Midwest should do
to help OWS.. and there was an overwhelming response to start showing
direct opposition to police mind set by doing public outreach.. Very
heavily suggested:

- reach out to Vets, we must MUST do research before this as vet's
specificlly told me the chance of support depends on the amount of
knowledge we have taken to look at the life of the solder.. This is a
very big thing to consider I was told many many times helping vet's is
one of the largest anti media actions we can do

- Outreach to homeless.. which already kind of doing

- Foreclosures as many of the OWS think at this point it would be a
better rally as many of them are wishing to be involved in this

- we also can possibly ask for speaking guests like "Shamiree from
Tahrir", and "Cpt. Ray Lewis" but I would not consider using there
contact information until we have a large enough base.. Also several
OWS have said they would consider comming out for events but again
this needs to be for a larger base then we have, perhaps a joint event
in lansing or GR but if we can make Kalamazoo big enough I think this
would be great

As i said many meetings ago..the key piece for us will be joining up with larger groups that are better established and in most cases, more organized...like GR..I don't think over the winter we'll get the kind of number to sustain.
