Long before Occupy Oakland was even a thought, there was Occupy San Francisco! Its been two years since our three month
long occupy encampment was raided by Ed Lee's SFPD on Dec. 7, 2011. Michael "Rover" Chapin was arrested that fateful morning and still languishes in prison. Yet, the community that came together at Occupy San Francisco is still thriving. Time and again people proclaim how the greatest thing that came out of the oCCUPY sF movement was the deep bonds that grew between all of us that were there and how we all became one big family. In the two years since that fateful morning, we have continued to build community at the SF Commune, at the Human Be-In, at Kezar, at Gezi Gardens, at Occupy Forum and countless other projects, squats and collectives. Let's come together and share our stories and celebrate our community with each other! Thunderground Collective, the amazing soulful music group which came
together at the commune at OSF, will be playing music, many of their songs inspired by the movement.
---There will be letter writing session to send our letters of support to Rover, who is sitting in jail because he was arrested at the raid.
---there will be a circle for sharing stories, so much happened during those electric months, it will be nice to share each others stories
---Please bring zines you've written, workshop ideas, art you've made
---Conflict resolution tent: a space where we can listen to each other and heal our differences and grudges.
---Please Bring Food !!!!!
ALL ARE WELCOME, PLEASE COME EVEN IF YOU WEREN'T THERE DURING THE CAMP!!! Come to Justin Herman Plaza, (Chelsea Manning Plaza) San Francisco, Saturday Dec. 7 at 2pm !
