You’re Invited to a Town Hall Meeting on the Fight for Public Education
Date: Wednesday August 29th, 6:30pm
Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm
Location: Chicago Temple, 77 W Washington St, Chicago IL., 60602
As a possible teachers' strike looms, working people across the city have questions. Why won't Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Public Schools negotiate with the Chicago Teachers Union over critical issues like class size and additional resources to support the longer school day? How can the city afford tax breaks for wealthy corporations while claiming that our schools must take hundreds of millions of dollars in budget cuts?
Join the Chicago Teacher Solidarity Campaign for a discussion about the fight for a fully funded public education system and the schools our students deserve! The meeting will feature a panel of parents, students, teachers, and community members, as well as resources, information, and opportunities to start organizing in your own neighborhood.
