iain -- i second your  move to revise! 

of you guys/gals who have been contributing to discussion and revision, i'm curious about two things: 1) do you have training/experience writing press releases? 2) have you contributed to collaborative writing projects before? (yes to both for me)

if y'all have no objections, i'll rework the whole thing to come up with draft #2. please don't be too attached to your exact words and please understand that sometimes your darlings will be murdered (darling being a little turn of phrase or idea or metaphor that you're particularly attached to, to the point that you've lost objectivity over it).

1) no, and 2) yes.  i have no objections. for my 2c i think we should take the part that we're all happy with and round it out with as few additions as is feasible.  its already plenty for someone to read.
