Heya -
Just a heads up that some members from the IT team are in the process of upgrading the Occupy Austin FreedomTower off-site.  They picked it up this morning and are transitioning the parts into a new, more mobile case.  So City Hall will be offline for at least a few more hours today.  My apologies for the late notice, I myself had no idea they were moving so quickly - after several weeks of design they built the new case just last night at the ATX Hackerspace!

The upgrade will include the ability to connect with the Freedom Network, which is intended to provide secure, encrypted communications between occupations.

We have also recognized the need for connectivity at the capital (or any new sites OA decides to occupy).  We'll be discussing what that means at our IT meeting tonight [ calendar ] and whether we can provision an additional Freedom Tower for OA.  If we feel we can, we'll present that as a proposal to the GA.

As always, if you're interested you can join the IT mailing list or contact us at i...@occupyaustin.org
