Tech got a proposal passed the other day that called for migrating off
of google groups and email for OB related stuff. If you want, you can
also get an email account with an occupyboston.org domain hosted by
mayfirst.org. You are all now part of the "Ideas" mailing list and
working group site.

You probably already got this in an email, but here are the relevant
links and the mailing list address.

I didn't see SPP on the list of Working Groups on the new thing (spiffy). It's meeting tomorrow at 7pm. Will the discussion threads from the wiki for SPP be available the new thing?

Excellent, can you tell other SPP? With the wiki down it's hard to tell who knows and who doesn't.

Not sure if this is the place, but I was so disappointed that we are migrating not to an online group but to a listserv. I had switched gears to stop receiving OB emails because they are burying the rest of my life. So, I was thoroughly appreciating the ability to go to the Google Groups web page and see all of the groups I'm in in one place.

Any chance that there is a groups or forum function which we could use via mayfirst?

I recognize and appreciate your disappointment Allison. Making sound,
political, security conscious technological decisions can be somewhat
difficult. As with all political decisions, like becoming a vegetarian
or eating locally grown food or riding a bike instead of driving or
living in a tent instead of in your apartment, this one requires an
adjustment. If this movement is successful, a bunch of changes such as
these are immanent.

While mailman does not do this type of functionality there are a number
of way you might achieve a similar result. Mozilla thunderbird has
great newsgroup support, and you can integrate mailing lists into it.
But the easiest way would be to create your own page on the wiki
http://wiki.occupyboston.org and paste links to the mailing lists
there. It would achieve the same effect as seeing all of your groups.

Thank you, Ross.

Yes, I appreciate the security needs and was not suggesting that I preferred Google. I love that we're out of that system. Perhaps I should have acknowledged that. I'm just struggling with managing things and a system where the only way to post is via email upended what I had established.

Thanks for all your hard work.
