Have we sorted out the table situation? Will assistance be needed in getting them to the park? Do we have a committed vehicle which can transport large items?

I only know what Lucy has to offer:

2 sturdy folding tables about 4 feet long, 1 shorter folding table

Not sure about any of the other details here

Furee has two and a half tables.

Sams been making calls.

We can get a uhaul (19.95 + 1.59 a mile) to transport.

But I think We neeed more people making calls to churches about tables.

Hi.  Kane St. Synagogue has an event and cannot lend tables.  Brooklyn Heights Synagogue does not rent out tables.  Christ Church in Cobble Hill also doesn't lend tables and said it's too short notice at any rate.  I left a message for someone at Calvary Community Church in Crown Heights as per Eliana's recommendation.  Not sure who to contact at St. Francis College.

I should've been on this earlier but we've all been busy and doing out best.  Sounds like we have about 4 tables.  How would folks feel about purchasing several cheap folding tables, maybe 4-8 of them?  I could then store them in my basement for future events. Otherwise we can get creative, bring some blankets to designate discussion and lunch spaces, etc.

Another option is plywood and crates (ala early Zuccotti), but who has that stuff sitting around?  I like your cheap folding tables idea, Samantha.  Carless in Bay Ridge, I don't know that I can be much help purchasing or transporting them.

We can bring some painter's tape (the blue paper stuff) to put on the ground to designate space for 'tabling' if we run out of table surface area, less troublesome and bed-buggy than scrambling blankets together at the last minute.

Sparkles from me on the table proposal, but it may take some time to get the purchase cost reimbursed to whoever gets them. Hopefully this will change, but we currently have no fundraising apparatus for this weekend, or at all really, though I am confident we can improvise and get it together.

great, i would put down the money but i have no vehicle.  at this point it sounds like tables are coming out of the woodworks, so it may be best to just work with what we've got.

Let's identify a place we can get tables from day-of, and be prepared to get a vehicle, just in case. Can someone please work on that?

As I mentioned before, I could get a truck through ZipCar or through U-Haul as Eliana suggested.

WE have at least two cars: Kara, and Lucy (right Kara?)

Most tables can fit in there.

FUREE has two large and fairly heavy tables. Lucy has a cart type thing that she thinks cna handel those.

Bruno, how big are your tables?

I have a car and a handtruck. I like the tape on the ground idea. I have lots of clipboards so that plus tape, on the ground makes a table. Plus a sign.
I have another card size table to bring and I know some of the orgs are bringing their own tables.

I'm bringing a little kitchen step ladder which people can stand on when speaking from the front of the space. There is no elevated space unless we used one of the benches.

kara's car is too small to carry any tables.
Lucy, are you saying you have a truck? that would be sweet.

UPDATE- i got someone else to call the brooklyn heights synagogue on our behalf and they actually do have 8-10 tables we can use!  they're folding tables.  they're pretty heavy, but the synagogue is literally a few blocks away from the event site (131 Remsen b/w Henry & Clinton). we'd either need a few strong people to do lots of carrying, OR if Lucy's car is available tomorrow morning we could load them all up in one go and it wouldn't take long at all. what do people think?

I have a lightweight cart, I'll bring it. Someone mentioned a hand truck (I think Lucy), if we could get a couple of those that would be great.

Great, Robert/Lucy/anyone with a car- when can you be there tomorrow morning?  I would like to call the person who's in contact with Brooklyn Heights Synagogue to figure out a time frame for table pickup.

I'll be there close to 9. We have to unload my car and then we can pick up tables. I will bring the handtruck also. We need to use it move the porto sans as they put them on the wrong side of Tillary St. Shouldn't take too long to take care of.

Hi, I'm getting picked up by someone with a car around 9, to grab the big box of printed materials from my place and pick up the tables. I have signs with arrows pointing towards the site to hang at subway stations, signs for INFO, MEDIA & KITCHEN, & the schedule, + oaktag. I will try to drop this off at the Plaza before I head to the synagogue. Lucy if you're going to meet us there call me: 718-938-8947.

i know this will not be an appealing offer, but if anyone is available to help me move tables from the commons on atlantic to the brooklyn heights synagogue a few blocks away, i have a vehicle with a driver. just need one more set of hands for loading and unloading. this would ideally be around 9:30am. please call! thanks.

alternatively, the synagogue's open until 5pm but i won't have a vehicle later. if anyone else has access to a car and would be willing to help me move the table from the commons in the time before or around the GA, i will make you something special.

Samantha,
Do you need two tables at the Korean War Plaza before 3? I could get you two tables there in time for the GA at the Plaza. It would be easier for me to bring two tables from home than pick up the ones at the Commons. I'll deal with those tomorrow and get them back to FUREE.

Or are these the synagogues tables that need to get back there?

Not clear on what you need.

Sorry- I need to return 6 tables to the Brooklyn Heights Synagogue on Remsen Street, a few blocks the Plaza.  The tables are currently being stored at the Commons on Atlantic, which is I guess where the FUREE tables are.  The Rabbi from the synagogue said she could wait until Monday to get the tables back, but I will be at work all day tomorrow.

Hola compañeras y compañeros,

Just wanted to say it was lovely working with al yall yesterday, despite
the cold, the wind, and the police overkill.

Lots of people busted their asses to make this splash possible and it's
impressive how quickly so many relationships have been forged based on
shared commitments.

Look forward to working with everyone to increase our collective impact.
I won't be at the GA this afternoon, but hope everyone is taking good
care.

cuidense mucho,

xx
Lucas
