A free film showing of the award winning Iranian film "A Separation" will be held at Calvary Church, 48th and Baltimore, on Tuesday, November 20 at 7pm. A discussion after the film with an activist just returned from Iran will focus on what life is like there under the U.S. embargo.

Film description: A married couple are faced with a difficult decision -- to improve the life of their child by moving to another country or to stay in Iran and look after a deteriorating parent who has Alzheimer's disease. (123 minutes, 2011)

A Separation won the 2011 Academy Award for Best Foreign Film. It reveals a modern Iran made up of people struggling with issues like our own, and not dangerous fanatics as some pro-war media and politicians would have us believe.

Reminder: the next bi-weekly meeting of the Labor Working Group (Occupy Philly) is 6pm, TUESDAY, NOV 20 in the Mott Room, Friends Center.

We can assess our experience with the successful Chicago Teachers Union panel forum and discuss next steps, as well as the Phair Hiring Coalition activity. A small collection of pictures of the event are available here:
