Subject: Press Conference re: Mayor's "affordable" housing plan

NYCCwatch (New York City Council Watch) and Occupy Wall Street (Occu-Evolve), aligned with various groups, will hold a rally and press conference against Mayor Bill DeBlasio’s MIH (Mandatory Inclusionary Housing) and ZQA (Zoning For Quality & Affordability) proposals to the City Council.  We are calling for this action to echo the concern of the majority of New Yorkers across the New York City who continue to ask, "affordable for who"?  We urge those City Council members who will vote on March 22nd on bills LU334 and LU3354, which embody the Mayor's "affordable" housing plans, to reject these two bills.

 

We have started an online petition that calls for an investigation of pay raises for City Council members and how decisions are made between the Mayor and City Council and the influence of Wall Street and the Real Estate Industry on our municipal government.
