to Occupy: Reconomy
How to get There from Here.

My assumption is that the handful of folks who have joined this group
have at least two things in common. First, the desire to participate
in the transformation to a sustainable world; and second, you grasp
the power of discounting the price of energy when purchased with local
money:

People want to acquire the local money to get that energy discount, so
they develop local services and products to exchange for SunMoney,
thus continuously building a local marketplace towards energy-self
reliance and prosperity, which empowers their communities to protect
all the human and natural resources that are part of that local
marketplace.

What I would like to accomplish now is to create a tool that gets
there from here. "Here" is a global marketplace that rewards
irresponsible exploitation of resources, and "There" is world filled
with SunMoney communities. I call this process Reconomy because it
amounts to a global economic renaissance, wherein the power of
community is reawakened.

So, what I have in mind is that we pay people to help accomplish this
economic transformation.  I have no doubt that we can accomplish
Economy if we compensate individuals and groups for their
contributions with the money they deserve.  And that money is SunMoney
- the money that will be most valuable in the world we will create
together.

Now, SunMoney can only be spent where it is legal to spend and of
course requires that someone is willing to accept it, and so for the
most part this compensation will amount to a savings that waits for
your local SunMoney system to open.

How long will that wait be? The larger the SunMoney savings - both
collectively and individually - the greater our group and personal
motivation, thus I believe this path will grow to be a superhighway.

There might be no faster way to create the world we want.  Below is a
link to a short video that illustrates and discusses the amazing power
of tackling difficult tasks with this open source strategy that
provides a real reward for contributions if the project succeeds.

Okay, so I'm in, and membership is open.

How do we establish appropriate compensation and define specific
tasks? Well, answering that is the first task. I have some ideas that
I'll share in my next post, and then I'll leave it open....
