CNN just updated their ranking of the Top 10 Senate Seats Most Likely to Flip, and North Carolina was ranked #5.
As CNN observes, Republican Senator Richard Burr’s retirement is a golden, once-in-a-generation opportunity for progressive Democrats to flip another Senate seat.
To be sure, there will be dozens of U.S. Senate seats across the country up for election in 2022 — some incumbent, some vacant. But only North Carolina and a few other states are considered to be in the very top percentile of competitive races.
North Carolina is our chance to flip another seat and elect a progressive champion in Erica Smith to the U.S. Senate. In order to do so, though, we must raise enough money (no easy feat when over 50% of our campaign fundraising comes from grassroots donations online).
