Dear Lyle,
Here are two ways to help make the world a more progressive place for all.
In the Streets: Join/Host A Voting Rights Rally Near
You
The struggle continues as we combat the attack on
voting rights from Republican governors, State Houses, and other
Trumpists across the country. Thanks to the hyper-conservative Supreme
Court of the United States we now have fewer voting guarantees than we
had before the Civil Rights Act was signed. Join a massive coalition
effort to hold street events nationwide on Constitution Day, September
17th. Let us know if you'll host or just participate in a
local peaceful action.
In Your Seat: Free Film Tonight
Join us
tonight, September 7 at 7pm ET/ 4pm PT for a special screening
of Soul of a People, a
documentary about the Depression-era Federal Writers Project (FWP).
PDA has endorsed H.R.3054, the 21st Century
Federal Writers Project Act, introduced by Rep. Ted Lieu,
that would revive the FWP for our times, providing a lifeline for
writers and investigative journalism across the country. Rep.
Ted Lieu will be introducing the film and a panel-discussion
will follow the screening. Follow this link to register for
free, and share this invitation with your
friends! (For more background on the film, go here.)
Thanks so much for anything you can do, wherever you can do it.
In solidarity,
Mike Fox for the PDA National Team
