The National Economic & Social Rights Initiative (NESRI) is 10 years old!

Dear family,friends and acquaintances,

Five years ago this fall, I began as volunteer with  the human right to housing program at NESRI, a human rights organization based in New York City. Through the mentorship of Cathy Albisa, Executive Director and Tiffany Gardner who was then Human Right to Housing Program Director, I became involved in human rights struggles on many fronts around the country and around the world. Most notably with the UN Special Rapporteur's visit to the US in October of 2009. NESRI will turn 10 years old this fall and the plans are to celebrate with a 10th anniversary gala on November 18, 2014.

Carol Anderson author* and professor will host the event. NESRI's staff, board of directors and many partners will be on hand to talk about the work of the organization.
