• Our first gathering and  discussion will be on Saturday, 12/13, 11am-1pm.
• Location, tentatively, is 1542 Hoe Ave., Clermont Village.
• Citizens Committee will be participating and support our event
• Food will provide for the event. 

Here is a description of the discussion and our Topic:

"Community Food Systems and Their Potential Impacts"

Our food is tied to a large and multi-part system, involving huge amounts of natural resources (land, oil, water), labor (farm workers to restaurant servers), processing, transportation (importing and exporting),socio-economic development, public safety and waste disposal (land fills). This food system is neither practical or sustainable. Join Urban Rebuilding Initiative and Citizens Committee for New York City in a discussion on how we can create sensible and local food systems that meet the needs of our communities.
