Bill Moyers recently did a show on how money in politics is ruining our democracy and our lives. The conclusion? We're in a pivotal time of change and in past times like this people in the US have passed constitutional amendments to make progress. Watch How Dollarocracy is Destroying America to see if you agree. If you just want the conclusion on how constitutional amendments are what will move us on watch minutes :30-:32. http://billmoyers.com/episode/full-show-how-dollarocracy-is-destroying-america/
And if you decide you agree, you can attend this event next week where Move to Amend national spokesperson David Cobb, attorney and lifelong activist, is visiting San Jose to kick off a local ballot campaign calling for a 28th Amendment stating that human beings, not corporations, are endowed with constitutional rights and money is not equivalent to speech. Cobb will be accompanied by Margaret Koster, a Move to Amend organizer who coordinated a successful ballot campaign in Mendocino County.

Move to Amend is a national coalition of over 315,000 people and organizations whose goal is amending the United States Constitution to end corporate rule by building a multiracial, cross-class democracy movement. David will be giving his talk "Creating Democracy & Challenging Corporate Rule," a rousing presentation about the story of the American creation myth and the Constitution as it pertains to Corporate Personhood and illegitimate but legal corporate constitutional rights. Following this heart-felt call-to-action, David and Margaret will lead a discussion about local participation with Move Amend in Santa Clara County and joining the effort to gather 75,000 signatures for the November ballot in 2014!
This event is free and open to the public, hosted by Santa Clara County Move to Amend. We appreciate your donations to help us finance these tours, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
