In McCutcheon, extremely wealthy GOP donor Shaun McCutcheon and the Republican National Committee challenged limits on the cumulative total of contributions that an individual may make directly to candidates, political parties and political action committees. The Court's ruling in favor of McCutcheon today is another blow to our electoral system and could be as damaging as Citizens United.
This case means campaign spending limits are off the table for wealthy individuals. It's Citizens United for the one percent.
