First, come to the Education & Debt Assembly at 12 noon at Washington Square Park!
This is the second assembly on debt and education hosted by Free University, Occupy Student Debt Campaign, and Occupy Theory. At last Sunday's assembly, more than 50 occupiers, educators, students, and workers came together for a passionate discussion of how the notion of a debt strike might become a connective point for a broad-based political movement. The group consented to reconvene this Sunday at noon to explore concrete steps in moving forward. Specific agenda items will be set on Sunday by the group. Come to this meeting if you'd like to help build the strategies, tactics, and messages that will grow this movement.

Next, come to the First Debtor's Assembly at 3pm at Washington Square Park!
The condition of being a debtor is often one of isolation, fear, shame, and silence. The NYC Debtors' Assembly creates a space where we can come out and break this silence together. Come to this meeting if you'd like to tell your debt story, hear the debt stories of others, and learn how we can support each other as we build towards a nationwide debt strike.

Then, cap it off with Occupy University's Radical Economics 101 5:30pm in Union Square Park (south side)!
In collaboration with today's assemblies the focus of today's session will be on debt.  Public sector debt, private sector debt. Corporate debt, personal debt. Where does debt come from? Who really owes whom?  What about the ethics of debt? They say it is wrong not to pay off debts, but does this position actually withstand critical analysis? Could universal debt cancellation (Jubilee) actually *benefit* the economy?  This course is being held weekly at 5:30pm on Sundays in Union Square.
