Monsanto is stealing land and poisoning seven generations under the false flag of fighting hunger. What do we say? "Do Wop, Do Wop....". Please come to the weekly Occupy Boston Special Action Planning Assembly, this and every Sunday at 5 pm Copley Plaza. We will be finishing plans for a musical protest at the Monsanto offices in Cambridge on the morning of 9/24. Occupy Vermont will be calling the tune. For updates about the action, subscribe to this email list:

(below, the latest e-notes)

Add your address here for the Monsanto action on Sept 24: https://lists.mayfirst.org/mailman/listinfo/ob_o_monsanto

Go to the https address above and add your email address, chose a simple password and if you'd prefer a digest delivery then choose that (immediate del is default).

Then, go to your email and (on most servers it works to just) 'reply' and send (don't change the subject ... if that doesn't work the click the link or cut and paste the link ... and add yourself.

Then, send and email to:
 ob_o_m...@lists.occupyboston.org to test (or not).

Hi Everyone,

I was at about half of SAA last night. I had to leave after the S17 discussion. Joan stayed, however, since she and I were the only people there interested in Monsanto, I doubt there was much of a discussion of it. Here are my thoughts, etc.

It is important to keep in mind that Occupy Boston is now rather small and fragmented. Reaching out to its fringes, and our own green networks is very, very important. We have to try to get more people to SAA and to the action. It is too late to plan a separate planning meeting.

1. Can someone who is on a lot of the OB working group lists, and the everyone list, send them all a paragraph, maybe this one, about the action and urge them to come to the next SAA? (I am not on all that many lists.)

Monsanto Action Planing, next SAA

2. I will do the reconnaissance, probably this weekend, maybe even Thursday.

3. Bread and  Roses: I doubt there will be a OB presence beyond the radio station. I have not received any wristbands or confirmation that I am the mail box. Nor is my box male. The best thing would be to get the wristbands and flyers to Occupy Arlington/Middlesex/the radio station and ask them to distribute them. If the wrist bands do show up at my house, I'll do my best to get them to folks who are going to Bread and Roses. (Bread and Roses was brought up at SAA, but I'm guessing not discussed since there was a lot to discuss.)

4. Other venues for wristbands. I'm not sure getting OB a large number of wristbands is a great idea; I can't see how/where we would distribute them, other than Bread and Roses, see above, and S17--and I think both of those are good ideas.

5. Theater: unless I get 6 other folks who want to make BIG BENEFICIAL BUGS, soon, I'll drop the idea. I also have a skit that would work well, and as always, it comes down to turnout. I don't know what happens when I attach a document to these emails, so I'll send the skit separately.

6. I will send a short note to ob legal regarding the unlikely arrest scenario.

7. When to start: I think 8AM is better, along with staying as long as we can.

Again, right now nothing is more important than outreach. We can overcome anything the day of except a lack of numbers.

8. Who will be at this coming Sunday's SAA?  I don't know if I will.

9. One way to get folks to SAA is to respond to individuals, rather than lists, and ask them if they can/will be there.

Sorry if I sound terse, there was a lot to cover.

love you all,

A.

You might recall that a few weeks ago, I e-mailed asking folks to send in contributions to a new avenue for OHC: we want to start looking at areas for active engagement and activism for OHC, and to do ...more
