I'm Kevin Spezia, I'm an undergrad at Wayne State in Economics.
I was wanting to get involved as I heard the Occupy protests were
spreading, and when I was leaving campus Monday at 6:30 I saw a poster
for the mass meeting. I'm very glad I took the time to go!

Hey y'all,
I'm Josh. I am a student at UDM and am currently working on my Masters
thesis in architecture.
I became aware of the Occupy movement maybe about two weeks ago and
have been eager for the movement to begin in Detroit. I think the
movement is uncovering and speaking up about issues that need to be
resolved. I've chosen to be a part of the student committee because I
think the student base is an integral part of this movement.
Unfortunately, I've found that awareness about Occupy Detroit is low
and in some cases misunderstood as a hippies-without-cause-gathering.
I want to bring greater awareness and knowledge of Occupy to the
student base.
With that said, I think having a flier specifically for the student
base will be a good recruiting tool. A lot of my colleagues who should
know about Occupy, don't know about it. I'll begin working on one
tonight.
