occasionally a small handful make it to 1515 on a Sat at noon. I've not been in about a month-6 weeks?? THere was chat about officially making it 1st & 3rd Sat's only.... has been chat online, guess last weeks gathering batted the idea about as well... no 'decree' has been made.
Handful of sub-comm's still kicking along. There is some movement re a strike debt, eviction defense is continuing great work, tar sand/xl/eco issues group is meeting.... Honestly that's all the more reason I'd love to see 1-2 "ga's" a month just to gather/share info between clusters.

In my opinion, i think GAs, for the most part, have been absorbed by Daymon Hartley's potlucks.

We really haven't had an actual GA in months.  It began to dwindle last fall after losing the 5900 space, and even before then it was only a handful of people most times.  We could hardly call it a GA when four people were showing up at 1515 on Saturdays.  Sadly, there was not enough interest to keep things going every week.  But, on the bright side you could hook up with Detroit Eviction Defense, they are still going strong.  Seems they always drew more interest than the GA.

A lot of people expressed their disagreement with the consensus process as an excuse not to come, but also did not offer an alternative model (except when they needed some $$).  I have decided to give my time to other established organizations when I can.  Being almost constantly disappointed by the small turnout or lack of interest has made me also disinterested.

My girlfriend is doing a flash mob today at belle isle at 2.30 if you wish to get involved.

I miss the early days when lots of ODers had lots of energy and optimism in making a difference.

Cheers!

Does anybody from this group go to eviction defense? Anyone know where/
when the next meeting is?

HEARTS AND STARS Y'ALL!!!

Event was great. Glad to see so many brilliant faces all in one room!

I'm not sure when/where the Eviction Defense meetings are but Terry Hall, Michael Shallall, and Joe McGuire are all still active in that group and they would be good folks to reach out to. Also Jerry Goldberg and Moritorium Now: http://moratorium-mi.org/tag/eviction-defense/
