"Brothers, Sisters, Comrades, Activists, Humanitarians, and everyone in between

As some of you may know, I am part of the San Diego Chapter of AF³IRM
(Association of Filipinas, Feminists Fighting Imperialism,
Re-feudalization, and Marginalization) a national organization of
women engaged in transnational feminist, anti-imperialist activism
based on a comprehensive analysis of class, race, gender, and
sexuality focused on conducting militant movement-building from the
United States with a transnational, feminist perspective.

Below is an official request from Af3irm asking you/your organization
to be a signatory for our Stand with Grace Compaign. We also would
like to invite you to pack the court house this Friday, October 19th
in Los Angeles (see attached flyer) to support Grace Grande and her
two sons.

Please reply to this email to let me know if you choose to be
signatory and/or plan to come to Los Angeles, your participation is
deeply appreciated.

Please see below

On behalf of the Association for Filipinas, Feminists Fighting
imperialism, Re-feudalization, and Marginalization (AF³IRM ) and the
Mariposa Center for Change, we would like to invite you or your
organization to be a signatory on to the Stand With Grace Campaign.

The Stand With Grace Campaign was launched in August of this year to
gain political asylum for Grace Grande and her two sons. In 2007,
Grace fled from her high-power abuser, a wealthy, former Philippine
Congressman and warlord, aligned with ruling political families.
Subsequently, she and her family have been the targets of harassing
phone calls, text messages, and also have been physically followed by
the abuser’s cronies. For more than five years, Grace and her family
members have been the victims of trans-border stalking. Grace’s
abuser’s power has extended so far as to have Grace arrested by ICE
and held in detention for over six months in year(?).

On September 24, 2012, her legal case for political asylum was
compounded with the news that the Philippine government had filed a
request for Grace’s extradition. She is being fraudulently accused of
theft by a crony of her abuser and now faces the possibility of
immediate deportation, incarceration in the Philippines, and a threat
to her life itself. If detained, Grace may also lose custody of her
two children, who may be put back in the hands of her abuser.

AF³IRM and Mariposa Center call on all people to Stand with Grace and
continue the fight. Overturning the extradition order and achieving
political asylum is not just a personal win for Grande, but a win for
abused women, a win for women trapped in concubinage, and a win for
any woman victimized through abuses of power.

We are asking signatories to formally endorse the campaign, as we now
must appeal to the federal government and Secretary of State Hillary
Clinton to refuse Grace Grande’s extradition.

Stand with Grace - one man’s vendetta should not dictate the life of a
woman only looking to free herself and her children from fear. Stand
with Grace – because stalking and all forms of violence against women
are unacceptable. Stand with Grace – because women are not private
property.

Join AF³IRM and Mariposa Center for Change and Stand with Grace – a
victory for Grande is a victory for all women.
