6-8pm Vermont-based Solutions at Main Street Landing Train Station
The Gund Institute for Ecological Economics announces a Global
Teach-In on April 25, to address problems associated with the "triple
crisis" defined by economic instability, environmental degradation,
and energy uncertainty.
Organized by a working group of students, faculty and local citizens,
the two-part Global Teach-In aims to foster a dialogue about the need
for new economic solutions.
TUNE IN!
The on-campus Global Teach-In is a participatory, interactive event,
designed to connect a number of cities in real time, through a
multi-hour livestream broadcast linking experts, organizers, and
activists. The global event will feature face-to-face deliberation,
teleconferencing and an internet-based broadcasting network. Come by
UVM's Lafayette Hall anytime between on April 25, from 12-3p to tune
in!
TEACH IN!
The Vermont-based evening teach-in brings together citizens,
advocates, researchers, students, professionals, and community leaders
to participate in a discussion on solutions right here in Vermont. The
local teach-in will take place at Main Street Landing Train Station,
beginning with a performance by Bread and Puppet Theater at 6PM.
The evening program is organized around three concurrent discussion
tracks: Visions of A New Democracy, Visions of a New Vermont Economy,
and Financial Sovereignty for a Stable and Prosperous Vermont.
ACT OUT!
The Teach-In will promote links and synergies between diverse
constituencies and projects to support local action to address the
problems associated with the "Triple Crisis", and to discuss policy
and institutional solutions at the global, national, and local levels.
Both events are FREE and OPEN TO ALL!
