Below is an email from Michael Dubrovich, a MoveOn member in Parker, Colorado, who created a petition on SignOn.org, the nonprofit site that allows anyone to start their own online petition. If you have concerns or feedback about this petition, click here.

Dear Colorado MoveOn member,

On September 5, the Douglas County Board of Education passed a resolution to no longer negotiate a collective bargaining agreement with the teachers' union, the DCF. This is just one more example of the nationwide Republican plan to break public employee unions.

We need to tell Gov. John Hickenlooper to direct the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment to intervene in the dispute, as the union has requested. So I created a petition on SignOn.org to Gov. Hickenlooper, which says:

Gov. Hickenlooper: It is time for you to take a stand for workers' rights by ordering the Colorado Dept. of Labor and Employment to intervene in the dispute between the Douglas County School Federation of Teachers and the DCSD Board of Education and put an end to their union-busting tactics.

Click here to add your name to this petition, and then pass it along to your friends.

Thanks!

–Michael Dubrovich
