Dear Pat,

We still have a few spots open on our upcoming delegation, October 24 to November 6.  I am hoping you will help us with outreach to your friends, family and community.

Do you know someone who may be interested in joining?  Are you part of a listserv that includes individuals who may want to travel to Palestine/Israel?  Are you active on social media?

There are so many ways to get the word out!

Please consider forwarding on the email below and/or sharing the following photos on social media (while tagging @Interfaith Peace-Builders and/or @ifpbdelegations) within the next 3 days! Click here to share on Facebook and here to share on Instagram!

We have an amazing trip coming together, with Cindy Corrie and Tali Ruskin co-leading and the Fellowship of Reconciliation as our co-sponsor.  As you can see below, there are so many reasons to join this delegation!

Thank you, as always, for your support of Interfaith Peace-Builders,
Emily

TRAVEL TO PALESTINE/ISRAEL WITH
INTERFAITH PEACE-BUILDERS & FELLOWSHIP OF RECONCILIATION

2016 Olive Harvest Delegation
October 24 - November 6, 2016

Applications Accepted on a Rolling Basis

TOP FIVE REASONS TO JOIN US IN PALESTINE/ISRAEL THIS FALL:

  • Witness and learn about the Palestinian olive harvest.  This is a season of great community activism, when people of all ages from Palestine, with support from Israeli and International solidarity activists, harvest their olives.  It also marks a powerful act of resistance in the face of encroaching settlement infrastructure and land confiscation

  • Show your solidarity and support the efforts on the ground of working for Peace with Justice in Palestine/Israel.

  • Form deep relationships with activists from around the US and in Palestine/Israel, returning to your community with the support and knowledge necessary to delve deeper.

  • Travel with Cindy & Craig Corrie, who bring years of experience, personal dedication and incredible knowledge.

  • This fall will mark Interfaith Peace-Builders' 15-year anniversary of sending consistent delegations to Palestine/Israel.  IFPB began in 2001 as a program of the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR), growing into an independent organization.  Help us mark this occasion.  Travel with IFPB and our Olive Harvest Delegation co sponsor, FOR - the organization that inspired it all!

DELEGATION LEADERS:

Cindy Corrie is the mother of human rights activist and observer Rachel Corrie.  Rachel was killed March 16, 2003, in the Gaza Strip, by an Israeli military operated Caterpillar D9R bulldozer, as she tried to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian family’s home. Motivated by her daughter's example, Cindy has dedicated herself to the pursuit of justice and peace in the Middle East, to seeking accountability in her daughter’s case, to promoting change in U.S. foreign policy, and to the work of the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice. Cindy resides in Olympia, Washington, where, as President of the Rachel Corrie Foundation for Peace and Justice she, her family, foundation staff, and community supporters strive to educate, make connections, and support grassroots efforts that move the world closer to peace with justice in the Middle East and to a realization of universal human rights.   She has made numerous visits to the Middle East, and in fall 2012 was co-leader for Interfaith Peace-Builder delegations to the West Bank, Gaza, and Israel.

Tali Ruskin is a queer white American Jew, living in Boston, Massachusetts. She works as a public health professional, and has a Masters Degrees in Social Work and Public Health from Boston University. She is an active member of Jewish Voice for Peace, and serves on the steering committee of the organization's Boston chapter. Since the age of five, she has spent a great deal of time traveling and living in Palestine/Israel, gaining a deep understanding of the politics, cultures, languages, and peoples. She has co-led 2 delegations prior to this one.

LOGISTICS: The cost of the delegation will be $2650. This includes 13 days of the delegation, hotel and home stay accommodations, breakfasts and dinners, local transportation, guides, speaker/event fees, basic tips and gratuities. Partial scholarships may be available for those with demonstrable need.

The cost does not include domestic and international airfare. Interfaith Peace-Builders works with a local travel agent in Jerusalem to secure the best group rates for the delegation to travel together on the same flight from Washington, DC to Israel/Palestine. Therefore, delegates do not need to book their own international airfare.
