Explanation of GA process, hand signals
Announcements:
James O: Wants to discuss civil disobedience after GA
Kit: Austin Art Nerds made mini tent cities and are looking for
location to place them
Levi: National Day of Action on March 19 to protest Monsato policies
Amanda: Occupy AISD action January 30 at AISD board meeting Jan 31, 6
pm; sign-making party at Republic Square Park n Sunday
Kit: Web team needs volunteers able to use Wordpress
Ryan: His church is willing to assist with donations and outreach
-- Meeting at Austin Java tomorrow, 5 pm, for outreach
Amanda: Stand Up For Occupy, Jan 29 at Hole In The Wall
Reports:
Kit: 7663 Twitter followers, counter of OA days of occupation, support
from Australian occupations; Twitter implementing filter to restrict
access per country/ OccuQueers meeting next Thursday, 9 pm, Austin

Brian H: need satellite kitchens and donations
Justin: Went on outreach canvassing to communicate Occupy message to public
Jordan: Debate Team holding actions on Sundays at Farmers Market
Claire: Requesting quorum for Finance Team proposal
Quorum is present. Explanation of consensus process
Proposals:
Claire: Finance Workgroup has created processes to getting nonprofit
status for financial assistance for OA
Kit: Advises an emergency GA should be called to ensure quorum and for
discussion
Quorum was lost
Claire: Proposes quorum of twenty ( 20 ) should be present to pass
proposals, due to decreased numbers at GAs
Concerns: Kit: Urges discussion of all options to increase attendance
and reduce meetings
Amanda: Other Occupations have fewer GAs and at different times to
encourage attendance
Claire: Likes both ideas mentioned
Gee: Claire's document was published online and was being "paused" too fast
James O: OA is an experiment in social improvement, stresses
importance of our presence in all aspects of Occupation
Justin: Downside to reduction of GAs is lack of participation
Paige: Less GAs means more actions
Cedric: Too many cliques within OA affects attendance for meeting quorum
Both proposals tabled
