Any other vets in OP?

I want to outfit any and all vets with some kind of matching
clothing(ballcap, t-shirt, button etc) and stand right in front and be
the first line of (non violent) defense if necessary.

The cops may be less likely to beat on a vet.

That's what I was thinking. D.C. is using Veteran peacekeepers. I just
got into D.C. to check it out. Rainman are you a vet? I have contact
with a few and working on getting them onboard.

Nice to meet you.

I'm a vet and I guess I don't need to tell you how fed up I am with the shit being heaped on the people of this country.

I didn't give 4 years to that submarine to let it get stolen and sold.

I'm onboard. I have to say that I have 2 kids and 2 jobs and not as much free time as i'd like to be able to devote but i'll give all I got.

I'm gonna check and see if anybody in OP has access/ability to make the clothing I mentioned.

Let me know if you need anything from me.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm so glad to have you guys on here. I'm in contact with the IVAW
waiting to hear back from someone that wants to rep for them and
tomorrow I am planning on calling a vet that was at the GA who has
contacts with vfw and Veterans for Peace. I want to find a vet who can
head the vets division of OP because I am not a vet and I have all the
respect in the world for you guys and I know the gov gives you the
shit end of the stick when you get home, but I haven't been there.

Hey all.

I'm Brett, CPT USA(ret.), 2 tours in Iraq, medically retired in '08
after 9 yrs. of service but I still got 2 arms 2 legs and am 6'3" 255#
and believe the right to self defense is inherent in ALL human beings
so yeah, I'll stand between the cops and the protesters. But I've got
a bit of Strat. Planning and IO training too (that's psyops for you
old timers) and would suggest a better method might be to co-opt the
police before we even get started. Get some out reach to the Police
unions, get them on-board or at least sympathetic, they are the 99%
too. I'm gonna contact OathKeepers and see if I can get them to send
us some 'outreach packets' to try and recruit some of the cops we do
come in contact with. But yeah, that's why I joined the gov.
relations group, (the other vets here should too IMHO) because I think
that is going to be one of the key factors to if we succeed or fail.
The 1% rely on their 'enforcers' (LE and Military) to keep the status
quo. If you remind the LE and Military that they are the 99% too and
bear no allegiance to the 1% then all our jobs get a WHOLE lot easier.

Hey,

This is Joe from IVAW. I know one of the VFP guys was at the 1st GA. I
hope you don't mind my hopping into the mailgroup.

Hey all,

Now that we have a march rte. we can designate a little pre-march RP.  Here is what I sent to Krista to put out on the newsletter.

"Veterans are invited to a quick pre-march meeting from 1030-1100AM at the intersection of Center Ave and Arthur St. (approx. 2 blocks ENE of the start location marked on the google map on the Occupy PGH website).  I'll be wearing a green camelbak and a boonie cap.  Hope to see you there! "

If you guys have any questions, shoot me an e-mail.  Hope to see ya'll there!

Hi! Can someone give the Safety Group bottom liner a call?: Bob
Glidden 269-861-2225 He just stepped up to help with safety/security,
but has no volunteers. If you don't mind networking with him. Thank
you!

Hello fellow Vets, just found this group. I plan on being there
tomorrow and I am bringing a bunch of family members with me. Once I
get them situated, I'll be at the vet RP by 11. I'd be honored to
stand between the protesters and the police with you.

See you in the morning,
Scott
