I am posting this in every group. We need a group to form that will
serve as Camp Logistics Team. the Camp Working Group is nonexistent,
so I have no idea if anyone has discussed anything regarding setting
up a long-term camp, how to gather donated items for camp, and other
logistics. I want to post a list of items needed for Camp on the
website this morning. I will get a basic list going and if anyone
wants to add things, please email them to
webge...@occupypittsburgh.org. We'll also want to post a list of
items people should bring with them to camp. Any help on this stuff
is appreciated.

Most important, in addition to getting a list of items people can
donate is a place they can bring the items. People want to donate
NOW, and we do not have a place set up yet where we can accept items,
then have a way to transport to the camp site downtown. The Wylie Ave
Church could serve that purpose prior to camp set-up, but I'm not sure
when someone can get a hold of them to approve this. So if anyone has
other ideas...

There should be at least 1 Medic available on Saturday, and I think 4
of them plan to be present when they can long-term, but we may need
more volunteers for that...though oftentimes, medics will show up
anyway. And, of course, we have access to EMS and local hospitals,
too.

This is what I sent to web team, to start:

Camp Items:

List is updated regularly - so check back often for updates.

Donation drop-off location TBD - will update as soon as we have a drop-off site for donating items before Saturday, October 15, 2011, and once camp is established.

People camping should bring:

Cold weather camping clothing and gear:

Thermal underwear

Wool socks

Sweaters

Insulated jackets/coats/gloves/mittens

Scarves

Wool/knit hats

Rain poncho (*can make one from a trash bag)

Rain boots/snow boots

AND:

Heavy blankets

Tent

Tarp

Portable heaters/heat lamps

Flashlight

Water – bring 1 gallon of water
