It seems to me that we have a revolving problem here. People within
the marginalized communities we represent are less likely to be able
to camp, so we have less of a presence. Clearly, as we have less of a
presence, our needs are not met, so those who could camp on occasion
or be at camp during day and evening don't feel safe doing so. And if
we aren't there to demand that the Solidarity Statement be followed,
this continues. Vicious loop.
Possible solutions, to go together:
1. Can we work on developing a specified safe space within camp?
2. Can we coordinate people who could camp frequently?
3. Can we work a rotating schedule for people who might be able to
camp occasionally?
No alcohol and no drugs is posted at the entrances to camp, non
violence and the internal solidarity list should also be posted, and I
don't see that.
Past this coming weekend, I should be able to camp at least once a
weekend, and I can try to camp at least once during the week, but I'm
reluctant to do so without safe space, and I have boundary trouble
with determining where that is.
