Join millions around the world, protesting the attacks on Gaza on August 9 in support of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign. See
When: Saturday, August 9; 10 AM - Noon
Where: Northwest Expressway and Penn (Penn Sq. Mall intersection)
Who: Organized by Center for Conscience in Action (Oklahoma affiliate of the War Resister's League)
Why:
Weeks of Israeli bombings and massacring have left over 1,400 Palestinians killed, over 6,000 injured; decades of illegal occupation have left Palestinians without their basic human rights.
Our government is funding this genocide. It is with our complicity that Israel continues its war crimes with impunity.
This demonstration is not just to show our support for the Palestinian people, but also demand that Washington stop support, financial and political, for the criminal actions of Israel.
We support the rights of all people to self-determination and to live free from the threat of violence, to raise their families, to go to school and work, to travel, with dignity and safety. The disproportionate actions of Israel, in a decades long occupation and oppression of an entire people, cannot lead to peace for anyone, but only to more violence and despair. The US must demand and facilitate a change in Israel's criminal, inhumane policies and actions, and must stop providing the weapons that encourage them.
Protest will begin at 10:00 AM at the intersection of Northwest Expressway and Pennsylvania Ave.
No violent, racist or religion-related displays will be permitted. Palestinian and peace-themed flags only.
