Please join us this Saturday, April 2 for an informal fundraiser for OCC at Mayflower UCC Church which will feature the first annual Mertens Peace Award being presented to Father John Vrana, a longtime diocesan priest in Central Oklahoma who took courageous stands for civil rights, equality and nonviolence. The award is named for Marianne Mertens and the late Art Mertens, who were founding members of OCC and who have given so generously to the causes of social justice and peace.

Performing will be popular local singer/songwriter Peggy Johnson, singing her favorite peace songs. There will be light refreshments.

The event is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

Mayflower Church is located at 3901 Northwest 63rd Street in Oklahoma City. The event starts at 7pm.

Please pass on this announcement to your own lists and networks, especially any who might know Father Vrana and have known, worked or studied with him during his long life of service; there will be an opportunity for public sharing of such remembrances.

Attached is a press release with more information about the event. If the attachment doesn't come through, you can find it on our web site, www.centerforconscience.org

Should you be unable to attend the event but wish to make a contribution to OCC, please mail to OCC, 504 NE 16th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73104.

As ever, thank you for your interest and support for OCC's important work in ending wars -- and eliminating war itself.
