Dear Commissioners,

On behalf of Orange County Justice United, I’m writing in support of items 6c and 6d on tonight’s agenda.

We support increased oversight of the Tax Administrator by the BOCC, to create more direct accountability to the many community members greatly affected by the Administrator’s actions. We especially support involvement by the BOCC in performance evaluation and in ensuring equity as a priority in the Administrator’s goals.

We also support the overall direction of the proposals to adjust the LHA program to prioritize residents most at risk of foreclosure and severe financial challenges.

Thank you to the Commissioners and staff who are bringing these proposals forward, and to all of you for listening and responding to community priorities.
