I am writing today to voice my excitement and support for the appointment of Rani Dasi to the Orange County Board of Commissioners.

I have known Rani for fifteen years. I have worked with her in a professional setting, I have worked with her on the board of a non profit and I have been honored to call her a friend.

Rani brings wisdom, compassion and an open mind to every difficult problem she encounters. Her depth of experience and empathy combine with her deep rooted intelligence to support clear decision making and consensus building. She can clearly identify issues, competing interests and possible solutions to bring people together to move forward in a productive way.

I have been out in public with her when strangers walk up to her and thank her for her clear, calm explanations of issues as a member of the school board, most recently with respect to the decision to close an elementary school.

She is caring and deeply committed to community service. Her honesty and willingness to listen and learn, as well as to teach with kindness will be an assest to the Board of Commissioners and the entire community.
