The salvage sheds may make the residents of Chapelhill , feel good about there junk going to good use. The sheds are not what they seem to be. Orange county solid waste policy , Orange county policy. No commercial use off the convenience centers.  Allowing resale shops from surrounding countries and Orange to pick through the sheds is against that policy.  Several incidents have been documented with the Orange county sherrifs dept. Trespasses were issued and revoked by the county manager and county attorney I have been told . Yes one was may have been a taxpayer of Orange county . It was still a clear violation of policy. Unusable trash left in the sheds does not keep it out of the landfills.  It's all cleaned out Several times a day at all site's when opened.
It is the drugs and needles that are the reel issues. Even used Iv bags  with the needles still attached. Incidents that could occur from this would be devastating to county.  Again this all goes back to tax dollars. Has anyone been trained ? I know I was not. Ask risk management for written documented classes with employee signatures. Saftey was not a concern of the director , I assure you. Maybe a few pictures from Eubanks will convince you. Also I will include a video of Lead mechanic riding on frame of truck while pulling up a container. That could of been a disaster.  How about a supervisor riding up on an excavator bucket. It is really sad
that you all have been mislead by the director that everything is just fine. While he is using the people's tax dollars for travel expenses for office personnel instead of safety training. Just maybe you all could of saved the taxpayer's dollars by catching on to his corruption.
Photos and videos will follow soon.
