NASA has confirmed the time for our downlink with the International Space Station. The Astronauts will be answering the pre-recorded questions from our Pre-K - 12th graders (one from each of our 19 schools) from 11:10 - 11:30 on Sept. 13th.

Our tentative agenda will be as follows:

9:30 - 10:30 STEM Fair for students
10:45 - 11:00 Guest speaker: Pristine Onuoha, East Chapel Hill graduate Overview of Genes in Space
11:10 - 11:20 Downlink with NASA

Preliminary Plans - Please hold the date

Greetings,

On September 13th, Chapel Hill - Carrboro City School students and staff will have a NASA downlink with the astronauts on the International Space Station!
One student from each of our schools recorded a question that was sent to NASA.

NASA astronauts, Frank Rubio, JAXA, Satoshi Furukawa, ESA, and Andy Mogensen are scheduled to respond to our questions between 9:30 - 11:30.
NASA will confirm the specific 20 minute downlink time closer to September 13th.

Since we were given a 2 hour window, we will offer students and guests a STEM fair during this time.

We would love for you to join our watch party at Chapel Hill High School's Hanes auditorium on September 13th with the specific time to be announced in the next couple weeks.
The downlink will stream on the live NASA TV app and NASA website NASA TV if you are not available to join us.

We will pass along more information as soon as NASA releases specific details.

For now - just mark a hold on your calendar for September 13th 9:30 - 11:30.
