Dear Chair and Members of the Orange County Board of Commissioners,
I am writing to urge you, in the strongest possible terms, to appoint Pam Hemminger to fill the District 1 vacancy.
This is not a moment for experiment or hesitation. Orange County needs someone with real experience, steady judgment, practical instincts, and the ability to work across systems effectively from day one. Pam Hemminger has exactly those qualities. She understands local government, knows how to navigate complex issues, and has the kind of practical, systems-level thinking that is essential when a board must move quickly and responsibly.
Just as important, Pam leads with a true servant-leadership mindset. She listens, collaborates, and keeps the focus where it belongs: on the people of Orange County. That combination of experience, pragmatism, and public-minded leadership is exactly what this vacancy calls for.
The Board should not settle for someone who will need time to learn the job or who will treat this appointment as symbolic. Orange County deserves a commissioner who can contribute immediately, thoughtfully, and effectively. Pam Hemminger is that person.
I respectfully but firmly ask you to appoint her to the District 1 seat.
Best Regards,
Gregg Gerdau
