Orange County Commissioners,
I wanted to ensure you saw this communication the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counites sent to their membership regarding recent immigration enforcement activity in the Triangle and resources being shared with the construction industry workforce.
As you know well, many in our community are experiencing significant fear and uncertainty right now, and employers in the home building sector are working to provide accurate information to their teams.

Subject: Sender copy: Standing With Our Hispanic Workforce During Increased ICE Activity in the Triangle
Dear HBA DOC members, partners, and friends,
Many of you have already heard that federal immigration agents have expanded operations from Charlotte into the Triangle, with confirmed activity in Raleigh. (WRAL
News)
This is creating intense fear and uncertainty for our Hispanic neighbors, co-workers, and friends—regardless of status. Our construction industry relies deeply on Latino talent, and we have a responsibility to protect the
dignity, safety, and rights of the people who build this community.
We want to ensure every employer and worker in our network has access to verified, trustworthy information. For immediate guidance, please share El Centro Hispano’s resources with your teams:

What matters most right now is that our community stays informed, calm, and connected to trusted sources — not rumors.
Call to Action
1. Support El Centro Hispano.
They are providing critical Know Your Rights education, hotline support, and emergency resources to families who are terrified right now. Their work directly impacts the construction workforce across our region.
DONATE HERE.
2. Share verified information only.
Encourage workers and supervisors to follow El Centro Hispano and
HBA DOC for updates. Avoid spreading unconfirmed reports, which increases fear and confusion.
3. Stand with your workers.
Let your Hispanic employees and subcontractors know you are aware of what is happening, you care about their safety, and you will continue to share accurate, reliable information as this situation evolves.
We are committed to using our voice and our platform to support the people who power our industry. This is a moment for solidarity, compassion, and leadership in the building community.
In solidarity,
Holly Fraccaro, President & CEO
